What We Built
The Build
We built and evolved a Shopify commerce experience with custom theme architecture, breed-first collections, large product catalogue organization, product/collection templates, cart/customer flows, blog/community content, print-on-demand merchandising structure, and Klaviyo email marketing flows. The live sitemap shows 509 English URLs, including 480 product URLs, plus translated sitemap surfaces for broader reach.
Key Highlight
The strongest advantage is niche ownership. A broad dog store competes with everyone; Lapphund Designs competes by being unmistakably for Finnish Lapphund people. The product catalogue, collection names, community pages, and email flows all reinforce that belonging.
Case Study
The thinking behind the build
The business strategy is niche depth. Finnish Lapphund owners are a small but emotionally intense audience, which means the store wins by feeling more specific than a generic pet merch shop. The site has to carry breed pride, owner identity, and commerce clarity all at once.
The Shopify architecture supports scale: hundreds of product URLs, collection routes, blog content, pages, translated sitemap surfaces, cart/customer flows, and email automation. That gives the brand room to keep adding products without losing navigability.
From a conversion angle, the store relies on belonging and recognition. The buyer should feel, “this was made for people like me.” The more the site leans into Lappy-specific language, products, and community proof, the less it has to compete on commodity merch pricing.
